The sun is the one energy source for all life forms on the earth's surface.
Also the sun is the past, present and future resource for our western life style.
In the past we consumed the fossil residues of sunlight at an enormous rate.
Today we are urged towards a direct use of sunlight as a primary energy source.

That urgency is obvious:

• The harm done to the earth by using fossil fuels, especially the CO₂ issue, is extensively reported in the media. However, the health damage, suffered by large sections of the population has not widely come to mind

• Fossil fuels are running out. Energy cost rises irreversibly. Nuclear energy largely depends on other energy sources. The growing nuclear waste problem has great public attention.
As a result of that problem and the attention, plant and transportation security are growing conventional energy drains.

• Nuclear energy is presented as a shortage relief, but for this to be credible, we must close our eyes to a number of scientific uncertainties, incalculable technical risk, not to be excluded extremely long-term environmental damage, and inevitable damage to health by small and larger calamities. The media seems reluctant - due to legal risks - to elaborate on the matter

• The worldwide consumption of technical energy – including heating and households – is about 15 x our bodily dissipation (== 15 x 150 Watt per average individual). In the developed part of the world, it is even greater

• The sun provides for around 10,000 times today’s energy consumption. On the night side of the earth this energy is radiated back into space. Globally, we need to capture net worth 0.01% to fully replace our current consumption. Given the looming problems and the availability of sustainable solutions, we explicitly support a dramatic turn towards a renewable energy economy.
Several elaborate scenarios are feasible and ready for action!

• For centuries, energy scarcity has been lucrative for providers and obstructive to production and creativity. Many omens indicate to leave central approaches and to turn to distributed configurations. We promote, configure, deliver, install turnkey and maintain

• The consumer senses abuse by conventional energy providers. Private, decentralized energy supply for individual use, grid-connected or stand-alone promises a great, also inevitable future. Only solar power, photovoltaic or thermal can do this for us on a scale needed.
Many supporting techniques for better efficiency are ready to meet consumers additional demands and necessities.

• Our energy consumption is frustrated by expensive scarcity. A multitude is easily achieved on a solar basis. In the near future, this will become a necessity. For example:: food production, hand in hand with other technologies, increasingly depends on technical energy. Given the probable demographic and political developments, we observe a growing importance of local self support and of shorter supply routes

• For our own safety, we better not rely on global "moral restraint" (Malthus).
Our observations urge for skepticism on this. Changing to a different energy economy is a matter of the medium term. The equipment needed must feature low maintenance, low resource consumption, low wear and a long life cycle. Especially photovoltaics provide for these demands completely. For instance, we guarantee solar panel reliability for decades. Mid-term return on investment, in some cases even short term encourages to action. Other techniques such as solar hot water collectors and thin photovoltaic window foils adequately meet new necessities.
